Re: Lewis gun higher accuracy than Bren?

The Bren is lighter and doesn't jam as much. At least that's what I heard

Re: Air Farce Follies - Friendly Fire Isn't

Situation 1: Rhodesian advance vs. Zanla delay. Canberra bombers saturate my RLI commando with golf bombs and Frantan. I'm almost wiped our.

Situation 2. Mercenary Seabourne landing. Airforce...

Re: WW2 German Mod

Chromed metal is more heat resistant. You don't have to chrome your gun barrels, and they will still function, until they burn out. And according to Murphy's laws of combat, they will burn out when...

Re: WW2 German Mod

And where are the Germans going to get more chrome? They already bought all Turkey was producing, and it wasn't enough. So with jet engines you have a choice. You chrome the insides of the engines...

Re: Sp Wwi - Wtf ?

Unfornately Andy is more or less right. SPWW1 was OTBRL Over Taken By Real Life. And Ramm, if you're going to post a beer advert, can't you post one for a good beer?

Re: WinSPMBT version 4.5 Upgrade patch

I like the unexploded cluster rounds showing up as mines. It means you can't blithely zip across areas where the enemy wasted their cluster any more.

Re: some random thoughts II

Footies in lorries are vulnerable to mortars and heavier artillery. If you have an APC, you're protected against some bullets and fragments. Also you have a MG or light cannon to back your people...

Re: oob conversion

Did you get a Dos 2.0 version? I don't have anything earlier than 3.0. Mobhack comes with the game. And I had forgotten that 2.0 can't be read with a later version. Sorry.

Re: oob conversion

I've found that DOS orbats work fine in SPMBT. There are a few changes in unit classes, but by and large, the orbats are the same. Also, DOS orbats ver 3 or later work fine in the Win version.

Comes with the game oke. Also, though there are some differences, the version that goes with WinSpmbt works with Spmbt.

Re: Repair vehicle and units

The quickest mobility damage repair that I know of is replacing a tyre on a vehicle. You tow it out of range. You DON'T try to change it under fire. The next quickest is replacing the wheel and...

I'm surprised that there are still Hunties flying. You'd think they'd all be FLC'd by now.

Shows what I know.

Re: Afrika Korps OOB available?

It was Blue in the old Dos version, SPWW2 v.4 I think. It was so you could do a valid North Africa campaign. After 5 or 6 (I forget which) it was removed.

Can anyone recommend a good book in English, or a website with how the Algerian FLN guerrillas, ALN 'regulars' and force locale were armed and organised?
