I play on medium bonus sometimes when I'm feeling like a really tough game but high bonus just seems too painful (I prefer to play with the mod pack races and they are very strong at high bonus).

Hmmm, only seem to be able to use the Organic technology in the 5000 pt race. Just seem to need to spend race points on too many other things - eg Propulsion Experts.
