I don't understand what you mean here. With different installs the mod folders would all be named the same. The players have to keep the mod folders named the same as PBW no matter which way we go. ...

Unfortunatley SEV does not yet have the command line options needed for different versions of a mod and the game will not allow you to change the name of the game type folder once the game is begun....

To be honest I didn't do a lot of careful testing. I pretty much nerfed all the settings and it got better. It's still not perfect. The mouse has a little bit of lag, but it's playable. I'm working...

I had serious problems with the mouse lagging and jerking when I started playing. Turning down the graphics settings definetly helped.

I believe Ubuntu uses Debian's apt, so technically those aren't separate items when discussing the package managers. That's my understanding anyway.

To be completely honest though I tried doing it using the GUI tools and it didn't work. Whether that is Linux's fault or my own I can't say, but it certainly wasn't as plug-and-play easy as XP.
