Does Type I show up? I'm wondering if SEV is choking on the planets having 0s for their population, storage, etc..

Sounds like the problem I had adding new planet sizes.

What's your planetsize.txt look like?

If the stock ones won't work the problem is with your system generation, not the planets..

Give it some time. SEV's only been out a few months, and the AI scripts are a hell of a lot more complex and flexible than SEIV.

There's some odd crash bugs as well. I found that if vehiclesize.txt doesn't have at least four entries, the game crashes when you click "new empire".

Simplest method is to leave the stock stuff in, make your own stuff, THEN cut out the stock stuff..

No, if your a programmer the real fun is including the actual game..with critical bits missing. Say, it installs and runs fine, but dies with a "Don't pirate me" message a third of the way through....

The datalink thing is possible in SE5; see the Golden Eclipse mod for an example.

Se5 covers simultaneous transits quite nicely, actually. You have to order them manually using warp transit order commands for fleets, and in stock there's a 10% chance of inter penetration.

PES, I'm thinking that the sheer size is going to make it unplayable, just from the scroll you'd have to do to see all the system.

Should be. The patch itself doesn't break savegames and I don't think Kwok made any save-breaking modifications from 1.00->1.01.

I'm pretty sure that was based on patch downloads, which is an idiotic method. By that measure, SEV isn't pirated as much, because there are less downloads of the patch..never mind the downloads are...

At any rate, unless I miss my guess that's a minefield icon, and your ships aren't moving onto it because they don't want to die....

I disagree. SE5 windows, and its still useful to have the note feature there. Mostly because the game itself keeps reminders about which systems have notes and they're saved with the savegame.
