Well I agree that the Japs are in a "no surrender" class of there own. If I were to rank the various nations/OOBs in order of "no surrender" I would have thought it might go something...

This is very interesting, are you telling me that the USMC and Japanese currently dont surrender? or that they are treated differently to the other OOBs as regards surrendering?

You are correct, but it might be a way to free up some space in the German unit OOB? then again maybe not.
Also as discussed in the other thread there is a lot of variability within the SS...

Well it seems to be 1939. So these units maybe appear in the invasion of France. I had assumed that these units had gone on to form 1st and 2nd SS...

Dont forget Alsace-Lorrane was part of germany 1871 to 1914. The area has over history been part of France, part of Germany and independant.

Id be interested in the source for this and...

I found some interesting stuff on the SS in this book, "World War II" by Orbis publishing.
As we are all aware the origional task of the SS was to administer state terror as directed by Hitler....

Fair enough, tarrifs data may all be rubbish but the cross country speeds Ive found elsewhere compare well. Tarriff works at the aberdeen proving ground. So Im guesing that is his source.

Well just pointing out that in most cases halving road speed is obviously going to give you incorrect cross country speeds I use the tarrif site to illustrate...

As far as I know the German and British armies are very specific in the allocation of divisional artillery. You rank(ie formation size) determines how much of the divisional artillery...

Well as super fast moving infantry they do take a lot of casualties when they get hit moving fast which balances them out a bit. But your correct, Ive used them to "unrealisticly" swarm...

As you may guess form my posts I play as realistic as possible I rarely buy anything less than coy formations. Strangely I play the same as Narwan, PBEM using Italians and Japanese in that order....

I find it easier to just change the motorcycles size from 2 to 1, they can then both move many hexes and fight on equal terms with regular infantry. But of course idealy the motercycles...

The more of your units that have a particular hex in LOS the more chance you have of seeing the enemy in that hex. But it should be very difficult to sneak up on positions, you are after...
