Re: Austrian Kuerassier

This must be a misunderstanding -I guess we're talking here about the tandem-HEAT round which does exist. I'll have to look into my old correspondence with Siddhi, a former poster on this forum,...

MG3 inconsistencies

Another small error probably:
Recently I've noticed that the German MG3 LMG / MMG / AAMG, which, in the German OOB, has HE kill=10, is listed in several other OOBs with HE kill = 9 (Pakistan,...

Re: Lethality of SAMs

In the current West-German OOB, a Roland I SAM (Weapon # 135) has warhead size 8 but HE penetration & kill of *only* 4 each. This is a warhead twice as large as of a MANPADS but pen&kill on MANPADS...

Re: German Motorcycles and their Units

I'm already happy with the new Kradschuetzen model, I never tried the bicycle infantry but I suppose currently they are fast but must be very vulnerable due to having size=2, just like cavalry. If...

Re: German Motorcycles and their Units

Thanks for pointing that out, blitzkreig - I just downloaded the new patch and was about to re-mod my version of the dismount-capable Kradschuetzen when I read your post - I'm pleased to see that my...

Re: All Weapons, Fire!

You can change the game options' settings, try to decrease the graphics + unit move delay, this will save you some time in battle. You could of course disable the MGs of your own units or if you have...

Re: a \"patton goes East\" idea.

Sounds interesting. I've tried similar hypothetical WW3-follows-WW2- battles a couple of times, both in SPMBT and SPWW2. Always interesting - but WW2 is better, as you got guards units amongst the...

Re: Ideas how to improve WinSP MBT/WW2 !

Don,

I get your point concerning the recovery of tanks, and it's quite clear that this cannot be represented in the game.

What people, including me, tend to forget, is the time span...

Re: Ideas how to improve WinSP MBT/WW2 !

Concerning immobilized vehicles: I am aware of the quick-fix solution but the problem - besides the unrealistic time of recovery - is that AVREs and the like will also very likely get stuck in that...

Re: US OOB 120mm mortar (single tube unit)

Yeah but those are not the crew cab versions I suppose - correct me if I am wrong. Therefore they're just light trucks to me + to the game and not Humvees. If I want them to tow my howitzer then I...

Re: Venezuela OOB

Yeah - just like in WW2, call it blue or whatever and put in all the formations needed to relieve some pressure from red+green and to make it easier to distinguish between the regions.

Re: BoB Campaign Question

It was right at the start IIRC - I played it about 2 months ago, so I'm not sure.

Re: Venezuela OOB

For these nations mentioned, you surely know you can use+modify the 'Green' OOB (Latin America) and the 'Red' OOB for Eastern Europe-
About Slovenia, as you mentioned it: actually you will find...

Re: BoB Campaign Question

I also played this campaign recently and saw the insufficient allocation of purchase points, as I couldn't buy the full company IIRC, 1-2 sections were missing- you can, however, fix this easily by...

Re: Campaign questionnaire

I have - and I love it! I also adapted it by changing the nation + tried some other things. Very well done campaign! Can be quite challenging with low replacement points to maintain an effective...

Re: Impregnable, not killed, immortal the sniper.

I fully agree. And, no worries, Epoletov knows how to deal with snipers - he just showed me in out FCW campaign game ;-)

But take care, one sniper seldom comes alone, there's more to come...

Re: Roundhammer

Wow - please post your custom OOB with the Angriffshubschrauber!! I'm normally not so fond of such what-if scenarios but in this case I'll make an exception ;-))) - and as we know the Germans had a...

Re: Minor German OOB error

PanzerBob,

the thing with using an MMG (or a BMG - we take it as a shielded MG but use the BMG: fires only over the frontal arc and cannot be buttoned up by suppression) instead sounds reasonable....

It's not a big deal anyways. Overall the German OOB is probably about as correct as it will get...

Re: Minor German OOB error

While you're at it - German OOB, some minor points:

Unit 40 - StuGII G (also found under many more slots) - has a bow MG. Can anyone confirm that it really had one?
I would say: no - I could...

Re: British OOB / 25pdr AT gun

Thanks for the reply, meanwhile I tested it and found it's exactly as you're saying. Doesn't really make me happier with that weapon but anyways... the British OOB requires different tactics...

Re: British OOB / 25pdr AT gun

I guess must've been around 1000m - I'll check when I reload the savegame at home. Waould be good to know the range limits before opening fire though. I know about these performance drops in RL but I...

British OOB / 25pdr AT gun

I am trying to play the Brits for the first time, in North Africa '41... quite tough if you are used to playing Germans or at least Russians with some real decent weapons...

Anyways - the only...

Re: long Campaign

Some very good points there - Mobhack, of course, knows the game better than anyone I guess. Works well - but only if you are disciplioned enough and stick to your set of rules, or SOPs. Too often,...
