Re: Who is the most powerful nation and why?

Yeah, for me R'lyeh just has LA under control.
Only water nation? Check. Strongest astral magic in an age where a huge number of nations have weak astral magic on their mages? Check. Powerful magic,...

Re: Well, I\'m through with the game

Set supplies to 300. The ai should no longer starve its armies.

Re: Bogarus Help

Sector, wouldn't that communion only be +2 to paths? With two more slaves you'd get +3, which would help alot.
Oh, and don't forget that storm+stormpower is also nice for your thunder strikes.

Re: SCs: Frost/Fire Brand vs Sword of Swiftness?

Sword of swiftness kills a max of 2 enemies per turn, 4 if quickened.
A fire/frost brand can kill 3 per turn(and hits 3 per turn), 6 when quickened.

One round of attacks, meaning 2 attacks with...

Re: Rain of stones, and gifts from the sky

Micah has it right as far as I remember. For number 5, a mage with incredibly high precision might hit the same square with more than one, but it might not work that way.

Re: Urgent Thug advice needed

What do you have to face with your thug(s)? Specifically, what magic? Knowing whether we need high protection/resistances/MR ect would help.

Re: MA Ulm Pretender

Man can throw lightning bolts early on, which do alot of damage.
Tien Chi has access to alot of artillery spells too.
Man and Tien Chi both have nice archers which are very handy.

Ctis has...

Re: Patala

The bless, and the spells that scale with level such as bladewind. The extra two points of protection from E8 are also very nice, and the reduced fatigue from earth spell casting.

Re: Death Magic on the Battlefield

Nether Bolt isn't great, and is usually much less effective, but it can be great against troops with big shields(nether darts can be stopped like arrows).

A few nether darts casters with decent...

Re: Patala

Dom9 isn't much worse than dom10 for a cyclops, considering that he has fear and that protection will soak up most of the hits he takes - and that most of the things that can really hurt him(knights...

Re: Patala

I know you're talking about elephants in general, but this is LA and elephants, atleast in my opinion, are even better in LA than in other ages.
Firstly, armoured troops are much more common -...

Re: Warhammer Nation: Lizardmen

Sounds like fun. To me, it seems like the Saurus troops wont be as good as they should be. If they are only getting weak armour then that protection 8 will be killer. Natural protection of 10 or so...

I'm with Baalz here. We could probably run through specific tactics and counter tactics all day without finding something unbeatable when both sides have equal resources(research time ect). I also...

Re: Death Magic on the Battlefield

If you can get a high death mage(preferably 7 or higher), perhaps with a communion or your pretender, shadow bolt can get insane. If you also give the caster a spell focus, eye of the void(assuming...

Re: Whips and spears on a thug for repelling?

Repels aren't terribly useful. Try a fire/frost/shadow brand along with a shield - probably charcoal, but vine works too. Throw on boots of quickness and he should be killing 2 squares full of...

Re: Late Era Team Game

I didn't know what most other people thought of them, but I've always viewed them as one of the top LA nations.

Re: Late Era Team Game

Ermor/Agartha was something I was wondering about too...
I mean Ermors capitol alone is 7.5 Umbrals per turn, and any living nation being able to give Ermor gold...
I'm worried.

Re: Late Era Team Game

Patala has really high level magic, elephants and great summons. Ctis has banefire casters, decent troops and its best mages recruitable everywhere.
