Is a large game worth playing or will it lock-up

I enjoy epic, space opera games - usually with 12 modded AIs and me... However, every time I am around turn 150-200 I get a range check error.

I also read a post where the player had played to...

I tried playing through the 2nd players turn and then it went ok but...

I have the latest modpack. The results are great - huge fleets of ships and fighters... yet the AI never seems to exploit it.

One of my best systems (two Huge planets with my atmosphere) is on...

I downloaded Dracus' system names file because I am using around 200 systems per game... yet, even though I have copied it (named systemnames02 so i just removed the 02) to all the different data...

I bought Fallout Tactics - which is buggy as heck and almost unplayable.... and the people at Interplay could care...

Will AI be improved with next patch

Just as the Subject line says. I hope the AI will receive patching/improvement before any other change to facilities, weapons etc. It is truly the one aspect that makes or breaks everything else. ...
