Re: Great Stuff

Hey guys. I'm glad you like the demo. The full game does go 12 turns (months). Of course, there is a bunch of other stuff in the full Version as well.

M.U.L.E. was also in space, but had a...

Re: Endgame

You were right about the value not changing, since it is the end of the game. The CPU players don't trade, simply to speed through the Last market phase faster. However, the market is still there on...

Who pissed in Trotter\'s coffee?

Trotter has a full article on getting started in wargaming in this month's PC Gamer. I read the entire thing, and to my surprise, not a single mention of Shrapnel Games. They didn't even list the web...

Re: Where is everyone?

Thanks for the great comments... I'd rather have only a few good comments like these than a full forum of negative feedback. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon7.gif

Re: Questions, comments, compliments welcome!

Yes, 'twas a compliment... although admittedly vague. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon7.gif Rockstars a vague, and rockstars are cool, right? Therefore, vague=cool? Ok, maybe...

Re: Questions, comments, compliments welcome!

The most interesting thing about this game to me was my bewilderment. As I played the demo, I kept thinking to myself, "is this all there is to it?". But I kept on playing and playing all the while...

Re: Welcome, bring us your questions...

Sniper,

Yes, it is possible for one person to create a game. Gilligames is one person (me), and several other developers for Shrapnel are one-man operations. However, even though one person can be...

Re: A bad idea

Sure caught me off guard. As much as I appreciate Shrapnel pushing our games, I have to say that a popup on their own site is like preaching to the choir.

Re: About the poll on the front page

I'm now running my XBox on my video projector which supports HDTV resolution up to 1080i. With the Component video kit on the XBox, it really looks sweet. However, so far no games support resolutions...

Re: About the poll on the front page

I own an X-Box, but I hardly use it compared to my PC. As much as the xbox is like a PC, it still lacks three main things...keyboard, mouse, and resolutions higher than 640x480. If/when these things...

Re: Presto Studio Falls...

Studio or not, the ones that really want to make games will continue to do so. Personally, I don't think it should take several million dollars to produce a game, but I think most of the big budget...

Re: Should I listen to the review or buy it anyway?

On the other hand, other reviewers have commented that $29.95 is a bargain for Space HoRSE. This is from GameSpot:

"If you just want a way to play classic M.U.L.E. on your computer with three...

Re: global conquest game

I'm sure that one of these days, I'll revisit this idea, but it wouldn't likely be text only. The only visual thing that really affects the game, though, is the adjacency of territories and distance...

Re: Movies Always Off

Interesting. This is stored in the registry under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/Software/Gilligames/Space_HoRSE/PlayMovies. The value should be "true" or "false". The same thing goes for PlayMusic and...

Re: win 98 problems

Adam, I'm talking about people who are having crashes when launching in Windows 98. This is not a problem you are experiencing, so I didn't ask you particularly. But you're correct, I am very busy...

Re: win 98 problems

I have a possible fix for the launch problems a few people have been having, but I need to have a couple volunteers to test it. Please email me if you'd like to test it.

Re: win 98 problems

This is the first I've heard of this particular problem. Does it do it for both Single PC and Network Versions, or just one of them?

After the movies, if you press F4 to toggle the movies off,...

Re: global conquest game

Hey Jmenschenfresser,

I think I made the game you just described on my Amiga 500 about 11 years ago. It was ALL text based, turn based, and had population, happiness, unemployment, taxes, military...

I have a legit CD copy of Outlaws for BadBart if he wants it for cheap (REAL cheap). The thread he started was closed by Richard, so I had to start a new one. Let me know if you're interested.

Re: Meeting place for Space Horse players

I don't see why not. Sounds like a good idea. I'm sure the number of Online hosted games will increase gradually as more people buy Space HoRSE and download the game matching program.

Internet Game Matching program available!

If you like playing Space HoRSE over the internet, be sure to download the Internet Game Matching program. It is only about 3mb, and makes it very easy to host and join games over the internet...
