Hmm atmosphere changers are also useless after the atmosphere has changed but you can also scrap it out and use that space.

Advanced storage and propulsion expert seem better to me than most of the other racial traits. If you like having an offensive punch Organic is the way to go. Temporal and Psycic have some benifits....

Even if they did invade you ship weapon fire also kills troops before it kills citizens so they would be almost worthless for defence.
