Re: MAPS!

This past weekend I began working on a map of downtown Damascus, but it occurred to me that perhaps someone has already done one.

Any Damascus maps out there?

Re: Kim Jong Il invades (in his own words)

No, you wouldn't know that because you don't know me, where I've been, or who I know. For all you know, I might actually have lived in Israel at some point and have dear friends who are Israeli.

Re: Kim Jong Il invades (in his own words)

Maybe I should post an AAR for my "Battle of Tel Aviv" scenario, which features Syrian mopup operations in and around the main Tel Aviv bus station, which I actually walked through a number of years...

Re: Poll : Do we need more campaigns ?

I've been toying with the idea of creating a scenario called "Operation Barack," dealing with the final destruction of OBL and his bodyguard unit by US forces. Basically a small feel-good scenario....

Re: OT: District 9

I was going to point these things out, but you've pretty much nailed it. The use of 'law' to sanction brutality was a hallmark of the apartheid regime.

I thought it was a great movie. I'm pleased...

Re: Some tips

Mines are quite good early on, but by the mid-game your opponents will be sending sweeper-equipped ships to dispose of them with ease.

For me it's satellites, supplemented with defence bases.

Re: Stellar manipulation and spatial ruptures?

Try also the Dark Nova mod, Devnull mod, and of course Atrocities' incredible Star Trek mod.

Re: Some tips

This isn't a mid-game tip, but something I begin early and continue throughout the game:

Build a few small transports and give them repeat orders to take population from your home world and...

Re: Small maps, fewer turns

I really enjoyed your AAR. The style was perfect. I noticed that the father was writing to his son. Since the son was also in the army, it made sense that the letters should discuss the battles the...

Re: Favorite Theater

Eastern Front, mainly because it's the area I know the most about. But it's toss-up between the early war and late war periods.

Re: What nation do you prefer to go in battle with?

1) Germany (for the SP guns)

2) USSR (since I've studied the Red Army quite a bit over the decades)

Re: Small maps, fewer turns

I'm an old SPI 1970s wargamer, and I always felt more comfortable with games I can complete within a reasonable amount of time. Monster games can be fun--on the computer and on a tabletop--but one...

Re: MAPS!

Since there don't seem to be many generic city maps around, I decided to make one. It's time to give something back to the community! :)

Here is my first MBT map. This is a small, nicely...

Re: MAPS!

Is anybody out there making city maps? Especially "center of city" maps about 50 x 50 to 80 x 80 in size.

I can't believe I'm the only one who is interested in city fighting.

Re: A diffrent feel, less Eye of god

The game is so deep, even if you've been playing for years and regularly check the manual you still miss things. It's good to look around on this forum several times a week. You always find that...

Simple way to trim a map?

Can anyone explain to me in simple terms how to trim a map? I've read the help file as well as the game manual and can't seem to get my head around it. It says you can cut or copy the active portion...

Re: Small maps, fewer turns

I love the many scenarios and maps that come with the game, but a really prefer smaller maps and have been trying (with limited success) to create some that are as amazing as the existing ones.

Printable TO&Es for minor powers?

Hi guys

Having been to the Philippines a couple of times I've been attempting to make a Philippine Army vs New People's Army scenario. Circa 1985-90 if possible, but any time since then would do. ...
