Re: Molotov Cocktails, Whats the deal?

Would you want to walk around in combat carrying a breakable container with highly flammable liquid on the odd chance you run into an enemy vehicle? Think of all the diving into cover, bullets,...

Re: ATGM availability

For cold war years don't forget that the armies weren't general all-purpose but often tailored to a specific task. Take the dutch for example; they'd be defending the area south of Hamburg against an...

Re: PGM's and ARM's

Did you keep them hovering for at least a whole turn (ie not moving them) within range of those rpg's? That's what happened in Somalia and that's what needed for AT weapons to fire at them. I think...

Re: BMGs, CMGs,AAMGs,TMGs,whateverMGs

BMG = hull mg
CMG = coaxial mg (next to main gun)
AAMG = antiair mg
TMG - turret mg (mg as main weapon in turret)

Tells the game how to treat that specific mg as each category has it's own...

Re: What 3 companies should I buy If I want to be as accurate as possible?

No, I found them on the web somewhere. Didn't write down where and now I have no idea anymore where exactly I found them!
There may well be a few discrepancies, as of yet I have not found two sets...

Re: Possible error in the US OB

Okay thanks. Unfortunately over half of the OB's I looked at for armored cars (about 30 OB's) have one or more of these 'inside carriers'. If you want help getting a specific list of all of them let...

Re: Possible error in the US OB

Ahh, I didn't realise all armored cars are automatically 'outside carriers'. Here's why; plenty of 'inside carriers' are classed as armored cars throughout the OB's like BTR-40's and BRDM's. So I...

Possible error in the US OB

Unit 57 (M93 Fox) and Unit 663 (M1117 ASV) both seem to carry any troops loaded into them on the outside as with tanks instead of internally. When firing mg's at the two units a hit will cause the...

Re: Ammo Loadouts, and Z-fire Abuse

I've run out of ammo with infantry on a number of accosions or at least had to adopt ammo-conservation tactics. And no, the shortages weren't due to overusing Z-fire! ;)

As CBO pointed out, 90...

Re: New Campaigns

One thing to keep in mind is that the dutch defensive positions are often mentioned as for example one company in a specific sector with 6 mg casemates. Unless otherwise specified these were manned...

Funny thing is though, I've not heard the engagement described like that before. I assume you have references that go back to german sources?

Re: Win SPWW2 and SPWaW

No. The regular opp fire routine (without CD) works pretty good. I do have the CD game and use the opp fire filter only rarely.
The game is geared to be as playable as possible between two human...

OB15 Autralia and New Zealand

Unit 150, Attack Carrier, is classed as an SP-AT vehicle and is armed with a 2-pounder gun but only has HE ammo for it. Looks like the HE and AP ammo loads got switched.

Three turns per week (average; so it's okay if it's less now and again).

Re: Opfire (no, not about the draining problem...)

It's simple, move into or moving when in LOS of an enemy unit or fire while in LOS and the enemy unit which has you in LOS does a check to see if it will react; if it will act it'll do so in...

Questions on polish armor

From 1980 on the polish armor companies differ from the standard WP model of 10 tanks (1+3x3) or 13 tanks (1+3x4). The companies still have 3 tanks per platoon but one or two additional platoons for...

Re: Stug AAMG\'s???

Such a change has a disadvantage that's bigger than the 'ailment' cured, IMO. When a unit is 'buttoned', the aamg becomes inoperable as no one is outside the vehicle to fire it. So changing these...

Re: Why won\'t it fire?

When a unit takes damage, the ROF of the weapons decrease. For things like ATGM's that can mean the max ROF drops to 0. If you like you can think of it this way, the damage the unit has received has...
