Re: Need Help!

Huh. That's an odd combination. When you first changed the resolution when SF was running, what did you change it from and what did you change it to?

Re: US Income Tax - Unconstitutional

Just google it- there's a lot of sites that provide the text. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif

What cheeses me off is some of them are trying to SELL it, and right now one...

Re: Need Help!

Try setting your desktop to something above 1024, then try Starfury at a higher resolution (mostly to see if that works)

Re: US Income Tax - Unconstitutional

There are legtimate problems with the US today. Income tax isn't one of them.

Something like, oh, this:
http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/americas/6512945.stm

is. Holding someone for 5 years before...

Re: OT: The 10th Demention

No, I don't think he did. However the view of evolution posited in that book has gone through so many revisions I feel quite comfortable in saying he was wrong....

Re: OT: The 10th Demention

Gravity first: the best explanation at the moment is Einstein's. Gravity is -not- considered a force there, and doesn't 'use' any energy. Rather its something mass does to spacetime, with the side...

Re: OT: The 10th Demention

Not really. And even if they were, the way he uses them is incorrect; if a law contradicts another law, they have more or less equal chance to be wrong.

Gravity seems to be an intrinsic property...

Re: OT: The 10th Demention

Example 3 from the skim, and this one is REALLY amusing:

d = ½at2. Constant acceleration equation. He claims this doesn't have any relationship to gravity at all. No physical forces at all....

Re: OT: The 10th Demention

Anything that proposes to replace -everything- sets off all sorts of alarm bells. You have to have one hell of a weight of evidence for that to work.

Well, this is fun. He's setting off the...

Re: Neo Standard for SE V?

Mods -can- control those files, actually. I've been doing it with mine. Its obviously not an ideal solution, since the mod maker needs to add each custom ship set in manually or the shipset maker has...

Re: Neo Standard for SE V?

There IS a size multiplier- but for some reason its in each empire file, so you need to define separate entries there. You can re-use the same model.

Re: Neo Standard for SE V?

Again, the neo-standard is supposed to apply to many mods. Its a request for commonly used MODELS, not for mod ideas. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif

Re: How is the game now?

The buttons aren't -that- big, compared to SEIV.

SEIV construction window: 14 buttons
SEV construction window: 13 buttons (space for 14).

SEV has more buttons in sub-menus, but that's mostly...

Re: How is the game now?

Uh, no. I don't think the UI is as bad as people say, but it does have issues. (why did the game ship with no condensed lists for units, and why do some screens still not have that option? Why are my...

Re: Newbie question: viewing AI moves

There's a button in the bottom-right corner of the screen. Click that and it'll show buttons to replay the last turn.

I'm not sure if it'll work in Sequential games (I always play Simultaneous,...

Re: How is the game now?

IIRC you main problem was with the UI, right? That hasn't changed much. There have been a few changes like condensed unit lists and a few ship design improvements.

The demo is up to 1.25 now. Grab...

Re: SE:V v1.33 Patch Available!

Adding new strategies via Empires/Default/Default_AI_Strategies seems to work fine, but even the new ones can't be changed in-game either. :/

I hope we don't have to wait a month to get that...

Re: SE:V v1.33 Patch Available!

Listed fixes are in history.txt after you install the patch. Or try spaceempires5.com

MM's website is almost always out of date. Go figure.

Re: SEV Troops Stuck

Probably related to the code that makes ships stop firing on invaded planets.
