Re: Conceptual Balance Mod v1.92

And I think this is good design principal. I'm just saying that I think it should be extended.

What you are saying is exactly right. Sure earth doesn't have mind hunt, but it does have an...

Re: Conceptual Balance Mod v1.92

Never said that Tir should be spamming mind hunts. Said mind hunt cover, meaning protection from mind hunts. And yes, tir does need this. As tir, or man, or pan, etc. if you're not thinking about how...

Re: Conceptual Balance Mod v1.92

I guess its just sort of a pet peeve of mine regarding dom 3. I wouldn't mind it if this was death's specialty: raising mages with knowledge of other paths. The problem is that it's not like death...

Re: Most cost-efficient conjurable units?

I'm picturing a lion with a hammer in it's teeth. Maybe they have them doing things like carrying stones and mortar around in baskets strapped to their backs. Or maybe all the Dom 3 animals are just...

Re: Conceptual Balance Mod v1.92

Seems like a good principal, but it doesn't really seem to be applied consistently. Why is it that diversity is hard, except for death nations? The only summon-able mages in the game with any...

Re: Most cost-efficient conjurable units?

I'd heard the same thing. But then the monkey nations would have a heck of a time defending any castle.

It's Pretty easy to test. I just summoned up some lions sent them off to siege and defend....

Re: Most cost-efficient conjurable units?

Problem is that you have to catch the Zmey with your hidden in sand forces. Not an easy task, and there are a whole lot more easy counters to undead than there are to a kitted out Zmey.

Re: Most cost-efficient conjurable units?

Apparently they can in the world of dominions. Only mindless units get the siege penalty.

Re: earth quake...

This is just plain evil. The extra affliction chance probably isn't worth it by itself for the death bless, but as long as you sprung for the high D pretender anyway it a great use of it.

Re: Most cost-efficient conjurable units?

If we're going with national spells. In CBM MA Mans wrath of Avalon is crazy efficient for chaff generation. Cast it with an N random crone with a thistle mace and you're getting almost 2 ogres per N...

Re: earth quake...

Or just don't even bother with a defensive line. Just use it as a hit and run tactic. Earthquake with a couple of armored up mages and then retreat. Sure, you wont technically win the battle, but if...

Re: Great Boar of Carnutes autosummoning

I agree a scales build is still probably an optimal path to take. I'm just arguing that a bless is not a completely crazy way to go given what you can deploy with it.

Re: Great Boar of Carnutes autosummoning

The extra protection of the bracers actually goes a pretty long way to making them more survivable. Difference between 15 and 21 body protection. They actually die pretty fast without it.

I also...

Re: Great Boar of Carnutes autosummoning

The bracers give you the armor. Double them up if you need more protection and aren't as concerned about MR or elemental resistances.

It very easy to get an H3 priest. Multiple ways.

Crystal...

7 Gems for an un-routable, sacred trampler with relatively high MR, who also has commander status.

Compare to behemoths (who are pretty good and sometimes worth it, given the right situation) at 6...

Re: Conceptual Balance Mod v1.92

Okay. Good to know. Still not a huge fan of the consistency problem. To bad you can't fix it with a price change since it would effect the spell for every other nation as well.

Maybe just add some...

Yea. Just saw the big drop in gem income this turn. I'm guessing they just took your capital?

Which one (aby or pan) ended up taking it?

Re: March Madness Newb/Intermediate Game (EA, CBM 1.92) (Running)

Yep. I'm actually not really sure how I'd counter what I was doing as yomi. A pack of level 3 priests plus 4 or 5 level 5 priests is going to absolutely ruin your best forces. And the other option of...

Playing a game with Marverni and just noticed something.

With the new buffs to animals marverni's boars now have berserk. However, the boars they get with the spell iron pigs do not (yep, cool...

Re: March Madness Newb/Intermediate Game (EA, CBM 1.92) (Running)

It looks like Yomi's gone AI. Don't really blame him as we was going down pretty fast and was about to loose his capital.
