Re: Turn 75 - Marignon Wins!

Is is possible for you to zip all the turn dirs and upload the whole hosting to a server so others can download it? I would like to be able to walk through the turns and see how it developed, if the...

Re: new turn

Hold on, is this another cheezy MP tactic I haven't seen before? If you send items to another player, do they go into the lab before the items the player forges for the turn, or is it random? This...

Re: Map Makers asking for placing timed events

I wrote up a really long reply with a lot of examples, but I got bored reading it myself. I think a system like this would be great for adding flavor for special MP/tournament maps, as well as...

Re: Poll: what OS/platforms (besides Win32) for Do

Don't worry, OpenSolaris (http://www.opensolaris.org) is proceeding well. There is even a PPC version (http://www.blastware.org/) in the works ...

New minor bug: tournament result display

I have found a new bug I have not seen recorded here. It is minor as it only appears to affect the display for one turn and then it corrects itself. I noticed it in a test game (at work *ahem*) on...

Poll: what OS/platforms (besides Win32) for DomII

I assume Windows is by far the most-used platform, but what of the other platforms do you use for your DomII gaming? My computer at home runs Linux/PPC, and I am very glad this quality game supports...

Re: COW: Map ?

Certainly, there is no "overseer" (as in YS2), but certainly as omniscience is considered a quality of godlyness, some pretender(s) might like to demonstrate this quality by showing their knowledge. ...

COW: Map ?

Honored Council Members and Advisors,

We, the not-yet-eaten, have not the omniscience of the Council, and our minds span not the world entire. The sum of our poor records do not allow us to know...

Re: New Game: Fun Sites

Here are some I mentioned a year ago in a wishlist thread:

Wormhole[S3] When found, it either adds a "Gateway to Province X" option to any commander in the province (or adds a 1-way #neighbor) to...

Re: New Map: Neopangea

Thank you, I appreciate the work you have done to make this map. The way you chose to do a 1-way wrap around works well I think. I have tried the same thing and just used a slightly thicker black...

Re: vine whips in conceptual balance 4.0

Well... only if you are thinking about it only from the offensive point of view. I still remember the first time I put a vine shield on a tartarian and attacked a triton province. It's pretty close...

Re: Proposed Rules V2

I, a lowly spectator, have a question for the Council (thought diminished in number may it not be so in wisdom). The Wiki rules section 16 specify stealthy actions as fair-game. But, if a stealthy...

Re: Another new map: Argaia

Running on Linux with case-sensitive filenames it errors also. The files unzipped as Argaria.*, but the map file has the tga with a lowercase name. Change it to "#imagefile Argaia.tga" if you make...

Re: New Map: The Nile

I really like the idea here. I tried making a nile-area map myself a while back, but never was really satisfied with it. It was also small (good for 1 on 1), but it was very north-south oriented,...

Re: Time extension?

Gort will never respond to you if you use that sort of sloppy pronunciation... it's Klaa-Too Baa-Raa-Daa Nick-Toe. Please report back to the galactic core for retraining.

Re: PBEM Game: Yarnspinners 2

It looks like several folks are getting behind on yarns already. Don't get discouraged; it's ok to lower your standards and keep putting something out there on a regular schedule. I know I will...

Re: Wishlist

This is 1 big idea for fort variety which I will recommend stealing from other games like Majesty and Sim-${var}. Instead of having just a single all-or-nothing fortification plan for each nation,...

Re: New hero abilities - suggest them all!

I suggested something like this as a new stealth commander orders in the Wishlist thread:

Taking an item equipped from someones hand or head is pretty hard if you want to remain stealthy, but...

Re: A thought from my brother and I...

Seems like a good idea to define a half dozen "empty" nations who's only purpose is to be modded (maybe with a set of some empty pretender, hero, weapons, units). Having a set of empty nations would...

Re: The Grand Anti-SC competition! - Results!

Wow, thx, lots for me as non-MP player to learn. I use the Nat a lot in SP, so just Indy9 provinces and AIs (usually hydraskin, defensive weapon/shield, reinvig, scripted 5xbuff and attack). In a...

Re: The Grand Anti-SC competition! - Results!

Re: The Grand Anti-SC competition! - Results!

This was a lot of fun to think about and watch Tuna -- thanks a lot for the time you spent! Maybe if some simple to maintain automations can be built, someone can setup some ongoing king-of-the-hill...

Re: The Vine Ogre

Aren't there situations where any of you prefer vine men to ogres? I know the HP is a big difference, but it seems like the smaller size (more per square) could be a crucial advantage. Like when...
