Nope - XM-8 Buford MGS was supposed to be light airborne "tank".
M-8 Buford MGS (http://www.fas.org/man/dod-101/sys/land/m8-ags.htm)

M-1128 MGS is "just" a Stryker apc with 105 mm gun.
