Re: Arena/CIWS Hazard

Fascinating post...I think my favourite part is the doctor's jars of snakes. :D

Reminds me of a visit I made to a doctor in rural Oxford, as I had this bump on my head that wasn't going away. ...

Re: Japanese Leadername's correction by Tokiedian

Sorry Tokiedian, I think your zip file must have been there all the time, I only saw the text file for some reason. I'll make an appointment at the eye doctors

Re: Japanese Leadername's correction by Tokiedian

I took the liberty of converting Tokiedian's file into the game's dat file. Just unzip and place in Game Data/Names folder.

Re: Too Much Ammo

When playing against the AI, humans have quite a few advantages, ammo resupply is just one of them.
I agree with Andy's suggestion that if you're playing against the AI and want to limit one of...

Re: Determining Purchase Points for Map Size

Four companies to 80 hexes means a battalion frontage of 4000m.

Just as a historic point of reference, battalions in the Great War 'typically' had defensive frontages of about 500 - 1000m, and...

Re: Need help with LBM files

The LBM Tool can sometimes be a bit temperamental, but I was able to convert both JPG images with the LBM Tool.

I opened the images, with LBM Tool.
Hit the 'Resize' button.
Hit the 'Reduce Image...

Re: Map Database

My guess would be somewhere between 1200 to 1500, if we include WW2 and MBT maps.

But it's still a lot of work.

Some of the 729 maps I have in my SPWW2 maps folder are actually SPMBT maps that...

I was wondering what sort of map database people would find useful?

There's a lot of excellent maps out there, but finding the right custom map for a battle can be difficult.

The idea would be...

Re: Flame Weapons

Your original intuition regarding flamethrowers may be about right.

There are one or two WWII studies that concluded they were poor against AFVs, as it was difficult to get any fuel inside the...

Re: Too awesome not to post: a genuine T-35 "runner"

Fantastic!

The sounds it makes have so much character.

Love to see vintage armour restored.

I've seen rare WWII and even WWI tanks left outside in all weather to rot away, which is just...

Re: WinSPWW2 Infantry Icons Mod - Cross Infantry 1.0

These are about the same width as the rider!

The few times I've sat on horse I've always been surprised about how wide they are. ...
