Re: Helicopter armor

Sorry,i meant the issue should be looked at.
As Suhir pointed to,helos are not flying tanks, but rather delicate an vunerable.
Easier to shoot down than than low level fixed winged air units and...

Re: Helicopter armor

Yay that,
What people seem to forget,is the rotor or blades have no armour just a nick on the blades throws off the balance and makes it highly unstable to fly,and any major damage to the rear rotor...

Re: A question

What i've noticed, there is some damage done here more often(still rarely) in arty barrage's or airal attacks though.

Re: Atgm

Well, IMO the AI buys too many of these atgms like they are cheap and readily availible to all countries all the time ,when in reality not so with 3rd world nations they are very rare, and mostly...

Re: Soviet bazooka teams

After this discussion,it seems this boils down to a rarity issue.
OP is saying in essence, that he is surprised the bazooka were so readily available in the soviet oob at that time.
Just my...

Re: #3 The Road to El-Arish

They're 10 and 11 turns respectively--the variant gives you more infantry and arty too--which IMO is asking the impossible, at least for #63 (haven't played #64 yet). Fourteen turns each might give...

Re: #3 The Road to El-Arish

None of these scenarios are meant to be easy, the designers make them hard for the reason, they don't want to hear"it was easy" after putting so much work into it.

You could have used the scen...

Re: Unlucky Platoon L

John, from your OP it seems like a squad in the platoon stumbled in close to an AFV,then the train wreck of all of them insued.

Have you still have a save game file?

What i'm saying is,after the...

Re: Unlucky Platoon L

Yep,i've found s__t happens more often than not in this game, expcially now since assaulting tanks with infranty is much more difficult in the new version.
Time to change that tactic.

Re: Unlucky Platoon L

John, first of all,i'm sure you are a much better player than I.
You never mention if any smoke cover was ever used, and since it was recce why not?
From the info you provide,i think you got a little...

Re: Mopping up

I wonder if that ever happens though..., I have never seen a human opponent "simply run away", and never seen the AI do it either...[/quote]

Happens in PBEM campaigns, its actually quite...

Re: Helicopter and AAA

Re: Minimal range for indirect artillery fire?

The two German infantry guns - the 15cm and the 7,5cm were used in much the same way as mortars would later be. Their design was based on WWI experience with mortars - "Minenewerfer" - and the two...

Re: Adding Some Difficulty

Well, most of the battles against the AI they have pretty much shot thier wad by turn 15- 20,so increasing the game length does nothing except adding to the boredom factor.
Modifying VH's location...

As for other preferences, i'm not really 100% sure if they could changed, but i...

Re: Unable to see turn replay

That would be good but many times, players play the AI and turn it on and then forget to turn it off in pbem, myself included.

Maybe a prompt msg when starting a turn in pbem, to make sure you...

Re: Adding Some Difficulty

Good one!
As the AI will never z-fire.
I may use it once or twice in battle myself,(to discover hidden units that fires on me) but not excessively.

Here's one,don't bulk up on artillery,keep it...

Re: the german long campaign is unplayable

I guess the nub of this is:

Never try river crossings unless you know how to do it correctly,(ie lots of smoke and bombard ect..) and do it in low visabilty as they did it in RL.

Re: Hesco Infantry Base MoD 1.0

Welcome!!
have fun learning "it ain't easy" take your time learning, and wait to see if you actually want to add MODs later,as they don't change how the game works much really, just eye candy really.

Re: WIP Campaign "Za Rodinu!"

zovs66,you've asked to replace the A0 with a normal HQ several times.
I'll have to agree a T-34 HQ attracts the "kill me now" attention syndrome.
Thus ending the whole shabang.

Maybe the...

Re: Sighting Through Smoke

Look at it this this way when concidering smoke cover.
There is no border,it flows with the wind, mainly NE,but can effect adjecent hexs too, depending on your LOS.

Smoke can be a double-eged sword...
