HE rounds will sometimes penetrate light armor, for example, .50 cal rounds will bother things with armor 1 or 2, grenades will do the same, but usually have better results due to warhead size, so...

you can have a direct hit in indirect fire, shoot a barrage of 155mm on a bunch of tanks, and you WILL get a 'top hit' message. and, from my point of view, a top hit is a direct hit to the top,...

I think they can, i usually kill light apcs by Z-Firing big HE into it, and arty can score direct hits on armor, scratch a few tigers with 155mm.

They have AP rounds to damage any armor closing on their position, but obviously, their use is limited by range, like tank guns, for example, i find the 50 Cal M2 (SLAP) rounds very useful to kill...

I would Fire Some smoke at the enemy lines, followed by HE shelling, as my men charge, DON'T stop to kill routed enemy, use your follow up forces to kill those, if you had more time, i would attack...

Those Japs are tough! Btw, Why don't you try starting out with a smaller force?
Tip:get those SMG squads into the fight, they can kill a lot more than rifles, and the only way to beat the japanese...

in the game, those vehicles can't be simulated on their specific roles, i believe this has been discussed before, the goliath for example, had a small load of explosive, too small to be useful, also...

That's what i do, For an even easier way, install the game and patch it in there, so you can take the game everywhere, have backup though, constant reading tends to kill it faster than usual

Japs are really tough, they refuse to rout and to disperse, bring your firepower to the party, have mortars ready to bag them, don't go head on in the jungle, be happy to draw without excessive losses
