System Destruction
When you get a message that a system or a
star in the system will be destroyed in 3 years, is there anything you can build to
stop the destruction and/or save your colonies in the system?
Thanks.

Re: System Destruction
I know I can do that but it really hurts
to lose the infrastructure (i.e., facilities)
built up on all those planets.

Re: System Destruction
You could always turn off the random events. I never seem to get anything good, so I usually turn them off or on low. Decreasing the severity is another option.

I'm sorry Dave, I'm afraid I can't do that.

Re: System Destruction
Since population grows at such a slow rate it is worth saving the population - build cheap transports; engines - cargo containers and vehicle control components.
Then 2-3 turns before the star goes nova move the population out of the system and use the abandon planet button on each planet. At the least you can scrap the facilities as you abandon the planet and get the resources for those worlds - as for the refugees, move them to other worlds that need population or rebuild the system with stellar manipulation then recolonize and then repopulate the new worlds.

dude, i dont think there are any good ones. It would be nice to edit a few in though, like 'economic boom' or 'population bloom' or other such.. as for abandoning, be sure to take advantage of the Last year and get some emergency build out of it for free. also be sure you can evacuate whatever you build.

Re: System Destruction
I've looked through the file, there are no, repeat no, good events. Not a single one. Read the file yourself if you don't believe me.

Re: System Destruction
The "good events" are when the bad events happen to the other races. Since there are more of them than you it will tend to hit them more often. So really with events turned on you hurt the AI (collectively) more than yourself.

Re: System Destruction
You can also select the Lucky trait for yourself to help make things go worse in that respect for your enemy than you.
