The Forest of No Return

Some of my units "was lured in the wild forest and never seen again" ... anyone happen to know if this happens due to a spell attack, or if it is caused by a site. I was lured to send units to that province because there are very useful sites there, but if it's a trap, I'd like to know before I lose any more powerful units there.
