Default Possible Global Dispel Bug

It seems that there is a bug with some global enchantments and replace/dispels: I had a Arcane Nexus up which got dispell/replaced by Caelum casting Gale Gate.
I countered by dispelling Mans Gift of Health, since they were closer to me than Caelum, and recasting Arcane Nexus. Now, however I didn't get any pearls from it
I kept an eye on the gem levels a few turns, and I only got my normal alotment from sites. However, when I scraped together enough to dispel Caelums Gale Gate, those pearls that the Messages had kept talking about but I've never seen started rolling in by the 100'ds again

Is this a known bug?

It might be that the AI spend less gems when he has a high income of gems, hoarding it for mightier spells. The AI is not so conservative with gems if he has many, but low incomes.

When you dispelled his gale gate, there was no use for him to collect gems anymore, instead he tried to recast his gale gate and other spells. Thus you suddenly got much more from your arcane nexus.

It might be bugged of course, but AFAIK the spell mechanics has been the same for a long time and I believe it worked in Dom I final Versions. Some Dom I vets can probably correct me if I'm wrong.

I think the original poster is saying that the gate gale... having displaced the arcane nexus, was still regarded as doing so, even though the secong nexus was a *different* instance of the spell.

Is the spell displaced flagged in any way in the info for the displacing spell, is the question, I believe.

Thats one of the things I LOVE about this game. A Developer actually saying that veteran players might be able to correct him.
