What's this drone bug again?

OK, I just ran some tests, and it seems that planets will NOT launch all of their drones at once at targets in strategic combat... So what's the problem with using drones as designable seekers? Was there some other bug that I forgot about again?

I believe the Strategies->Launching->Drones Per Target setting is responsible for this behavior.

If you have enough of the drones, they get in each other's way.

Oh, yeah, since they operate on the same plane as ships and they don't stack...

But that would make a nice defensive screen against enemies... a bit of a tradeoff, huh?

Make it so drone warheads are effective against other drones and let the sparks fly!
