Race_AI_Politicts.txt
It just don't make sense...
Check this out (from the Eee_AI_Politicts.txt):
"Propose Treaty Anger Modifier For Percent Stronger Player := 200"
Que?
And what's with this one?
"Score Percent To Accept Attack planet := 150"
Modified by?
Anyone have any ideas or tips regarding Race_AI_Politicts.txt?
Thanks,

Re: Race_AI_Politicts.txt
Well the values are tenths of a percent so it's not quite as extreme as it might seem, but it still seems wrong. Peace makes them angry hmm...

Re: Race_AI_Politicts.txt
That's how far I understand it:
Accept Treaty Base Anger Level := 30
Accept Treaty Anger Modifier Per Higher Treaty Level := -5
Accept Treaty Minimum Anger Chance := 5
Accept Treaty Anger Modifier Per Other Wars := 30
Accept Treaty Minimum Time From Last Treaty := 10
Accept Treaty First 50 Turns Modifier := 10
Accept Treaty Anger Modifier For Percent Stronger Player := 150
Accept Treaty Anger Modifier For Percent Stronger Player Amount := 50
Accept Treaty Anger Modifier For Percent Weaker Player := 50
Accept Treaty Anger Modifier For Percent Weaker Player Amount := -30
You have a base anger level of 30. If the AI has a higher anger level against the race that is proposing the treaty, it will reject the proposal. Now if the empire is much stronger or weaker than the AI this level will be changed by the amount +50 (stronger) or -30 (weaker). This means the AI will rather accept a treaty from a stronger empire than from a weak one. What is "strong" or "weak"? Strong is in our example an empire with 150% or more score of the AI and weak is a score of 50% or less. So this would make the AI accept a treaty from a empire with more than 1.5 the AI score even if the anger level was up to 80.
As you see there are other modifiers for the anger level as wars with other empires or the beginning of the game(makes the AI accept a treaty at higher anger level). And higher treaty levels like military alliance and partnership are only accepted at lower anger level. I am not absolutely sure what the "base treaty" is but I think it is the trade alliance. I do not know what the Accept Treaty Minimum Anger Change does. (I would expect a Maximum Anger Change Level, if the anger has risen in the Last turn above a certain value).
You can create very different behaviour of the AI by modifying these numbers, which is really one of the most beautiful features of SE IV in my opinion.

Re: Race_AI_Politicts.txt
I made in my earlier post the explanation for "Accept Treaty", but the same is true for "Propose Treaty".

Re: Race_AI_Politicts.txt
Thanks Q, that's just the info I was looking for - but I'm not content.
You explained earlier that the race_AI_politics.txt rather wanted to negotiate a treaty with the stronger empires than with the weaker (which, in most cases seems fine), then I discovered this:
Break Treaty Base Anger Level := 50
Break Treaty Anger Modifier Per Other Wars := 30
Break Treaty Anger Modifier For Percent Stronger Player := 200
Break Treaty Anger Modifier For Percent Stronger Player Amount := 50
Break Treaty Anger Modifier For Percent Weaker Player := 50
Break Treaty Anger Modifier For Percent Weaker Player Amount := -30
Does that mean that the race rather breaks his treaty with the stronger empire?
That seems like a paradox - If the race wants to initiate a treaty with stronger empires, "he" should rather want to break it with a weaker, right?
I'm not moralizing here, or saying that the AI-files are THAT bad - I'm just wondering if I misunderstood the encoding- that's all.
So whatta ya think?
Thanks,

Re: Race_AI_Politicts.txt
Again Lucanos that's how far I understand it and observed it in my games:
For the propose and accept treaty anger level the AI will propose or accept a treaty if the anger level is below the calculated value.
For breaking the treaty the AI will break it if the value is above the calculated value.
I agree it would be very nice if this was explained somewhere in the game manual or in the politics file clearly!

Re: Race_AI_Politicts.txt
First I'd like to say that I admire your socratic wisdom, Q.
Secondly, I'm just putting this thread at the top, in case someone else has got any other ideas concerning the file.
Any Ideas on AI_POLITICS.TXT?
Thanks...
