Default Aaarrgh! Warp closer question...

I'm finally getting to the higher tech levels, built a ship w/warp closer/creator, and now I can't get the comp to work!

If anyone can hold my hand, and help me through this (the *cough* manual *cough* doesn't help worth snot) I would be most appreciative.

BTW, thanks for everyone's Posts. They're more helpful than the "user guide"

A couple of things for it to work are that you need to have movement left so it will not work on a base. For closing a warp point you need to be on the warp point. Also there is a supply requirement that supposedly works now. Before it did not use supplies. This stellar manuip use 1000 or 3000 or 4000 a shot.

I have not tried since that has come out so I can not verify it.

Now if it is like combat you can fire just the same with or without supplies. However this may not be the same outside of combat and you may need the supplies to do it with.

Perhaps it is a case that a normal ship with 6 engines has 3000 supplies. your closer needs 3000 supplies, but you used some on the trip to the warp point. You probably need to resupply this ship back up to the 3000 level somehow.

Can someone else confirm if I am even close on this

The stellar manipulation now use supplies but it costs much less then before (about 500-800 supplies).

I generally solve the supply crisis by building ships specifically made to both repair and resupply my stellar manip. ships, works like a charm. Not only can I blow up a planet and recreate it but I can do it all again the next turn and I can have a convoy of the thigs going back and forth (only works when you've got the comp. under controll though) I love this game
