Default OT: New cellphone needed... recomendations?

After several years of trusty service my Nokia 9210i cellphone is dying... It still works, but the internal screen sometimes gets crazy and it is badly scratched outside.... i decided to buy a new cellphone to substititute it, but i´m a little bewildered with the variety of cellphones nowadays, so i would like to know if someone have anwy recomendations...

First, some requisites in my new cellphone:
- small price (up to around $500)
- capacity to read html and/or txt files so i can continue reading my e-books on the go...
- memory card slot...
- a camera would be a plus, but not necessarily needed...
- small size (i´m tired of the 9210i size)...

thanks in advance...

I'm a big fan of the Moto VXXX series myself. Easy to use, powerful, lots of features and they're clamshell which keeps your screen safe and clean.

My current phone is a Moto v980. Battery life is short, and it can be a little twitchy, but by and large I like it. You can put mem cards in it, take video (I never thought I'd use it, but I use the vid camera way more than I ever use the still camera) and upload java and mp3s (free ringtones! Huzzah!) no probs. Oh, it's 3G as well which is great for browsing the web. Kinda brutish to look at though, especially after my ultra-sexy little v300 (which i also recommend very highly).

Don't know how you'd go about reading your ebooks... if they were online you could look them up there easily, but I don't know how you could store them locally for viewing on the phone.I have to say I don't know of any phones that offer such a facility (apart from phone/ palmtop hybrids, which are v. expensive.)

Used to have an ericsson, which was bloody great, and a samsung, which wasn't.

I'd recommend checking with your employer regarding camera phone policy. Some places prohibit cameras on cell phones for various reasons that you probably can figure out.

I´m my own employer (or at least i´m one of the owners) so there is no problem with camera phones, but a must of the phone would be some method to transfer txt and/or html files from my pc to the phone (my ebooks)...
