				 Vectoring aircraft unreliable
Don and Andy,I am currently designing a scenario with a lot of air units.
During setup I set each strike or para/glider drop with specific entry and exit hexes according to the historic facts of the battle. During playtesting these units are using their assigned vectors less than 50% of the time.
 Is this a glitch?
 Please help!

				 Re: Vectoring aircraft unreliable
As far as I recall, the AI will sometimes plot the air direction for srikes all by itself as part of the AI code. That may well override any air in or out direction a scenario designer input. Though generally, it seems to stick with what was plotted.
 Cheers
 Andy

Yes, I see.I have set the Player to human control before starting and the airstikes are all coming in vectored exactly as I set them.
From a scenario design standpoint this AI control of the vectors is a major pain. Is there a chance it could be changed so that once a strike is set the AI won't change the vectors? Or would this be too much work with the code?

probably too much work trying to detect which bit of spaghetti does it, and if so, what other knock on effects changing it would have to AI air strikes called by it on its own, etc.

Ok, I'll live with it. Maybe Pyros can help with some kind of design fix in the scenario itself.
