Cultural achievements functional?
I researched civic achievements to the maximum level in balance mod 0.98 SE V version 1.17 but I do not see any effect on population loyalty as I expected.
Anybody tested this or any other cultural achievements?

Most have an affect, although I wouldn't be surprised if some of them are not working. How are you checking for loyalty improvement?

Re: Cultural achievements functional?
In my game (started with 1.17 and 0.98) I researched Education 1 quite early. I suspect I did not receive a research bonus, or a tiny one at most. I had just over 11000 before, and less than 11500 after the log message.

I believe that math is the only one that affects research.

I have planets with alien population that have only about 50% loyalty. In the past the loaylty was slowly decreasing due to unpleasant planet condition and I hoped that this would be stopped/reversed after I researched the civic achievements. But I didn't see any effect. I now modified the settings.txt and multiplied the amount of the civic achievement effect by 5. I will continue the game later and see what happens.

Re: Cultural achievements functional?
I used:
Ability 1 Amount 1 Formula := (1 + ([%Level%] - 1)) * 50
or
Ability 1 Amount 1 Formula := (1 + ([%Level%] - 1)) * 5
in the civic achievement formula and processed the same turn twice with the different amounts.
It made no difference in population loyalty.

Re: Cultural achievements functional?
Slick: I was following the Balance Mod Tech Chart, which lists Education as leading to "Increased Research Point Gen.". Also, I don't see Mathematics on this chart. Have you seen this in action? I'll experiment with these achievements since I don't see the benefits of the specific achievements listing in the main manual PDF file.

Re: Cultural achievements functional?
Are you sure the achievements work for other races than your own? You mentioned you were watching planets with alien populations.

Re: Cultural achievements functional?
Loyalty as far as I have seen is almost always only a problem with alien population you have on your colonies. If the civic achievement does not work for all the population of a player it would be useless IMO.
