Independants dont like AI\'s...
Just something a little funny from my current sp game. I had a spy in the enemys capitol, raising unrest, then in a single turn bogus and crew, knights and militia and ATLEAST one group of barbarians attacked in a single turn after over 10 turns of nothing.

Re: Independants dont like AI\'s...
I think it is just that lots of Random AI pretenders get really Vicious Misfortune scales. I've seen the Nord Giants get totally destroyed by about 25 Barbarian invasions within 3 turns. It helped me in my war vs them but still...

Yah, misfortune..
Or, worse, if they go for Turmoil/Misfortune.
Might be that the really ugly scales should be less likely during AI creation, and that some combos should be blocked (ex. pick Order/Misfortune or Turmoil/Luck, but not Turmoil/Misfortune) especially if the AI isn't set on aggressive.

I agree, a strong death scale also causes heavy harm to the AI opponents. As the AI opponents acquire larger and larger armies while turns pass their provinces with dominion provide fewer and fewer supplies causing starvation(low morale) which usually results in diseased units as well. During large games this becomes very obvious.
So if there's any SP gamers wanting to make sure the AIs are not using a death scale I recommend multiplying the supply bonus to 250 or higher and also use mapedit commands to force them with a growth scale.

Re: Yah, misfortune..
Or 'better' yet: Set up nations as player nations and hand them over to the AI.
O.c. that lets you know everything about them, but at least they don't shoot themselves in the knee by choosing a sense-less setup. (I'm not sure if the command-line argument for setting AI strength will work in that case. I'm pretty sure it did for Dom2, though).

You can take like a piece of cardboard and cover the screen that would tell you where your enemy's home province is when you set up the AI nations, so you don't know where they start when you set them to AI.

You can use mapping commands set AI things like scales, pretender, etc. Even give them bonsues. Adding such things to your favorite map can be fun.
