Default Sheild projecting

i have a great idea but is it possibel i wanna project a sheild on another ship or planet like in star trek when a ship has lost their sheild another one can protect them with theirs(if their smaller otherwisde the ship will lose its sheild)howsabout it is it good

A negative-damage shield depleter might work, but you'd still have to allow it to fire on friendlies somehow...

there is that crystal tech that goes on a facility and boots the shields of the ships in the same system. maybe you could fit something like that onto a component (some are cross-comptable, some abilities are not, have to try) but it would not be as selective as what you are describing.
