PBW to be permanently shutdown - April Fools Joke
My intention for PBW has always been to keep it going as long as there was sufficient interest. I know there is still a loyal hard-core user base, but the traffic is way down from our peak a few years ago. This fact, in addition to an ever shrinking amount of spare time to maintain the service has forced me to take the hard, sad decision to permanently shut the server down.
Due to issues regarding the ownership of the code, passing on the server to someone else is not an option. However, I will keep the server up for a few weeks to allow game owners to get their games transitioned to PBEM, or some other setup.

Thank you all for your many years of support.

 And of course, April Fools.

Re: PBW to be permanently shutdown
I assumed it was the april 1 thing, although that was yesterday for me. However I have trouble with these things. You have to make a joke clear otherwise I am unable to "get it"
 Edit: [Nevermind. I'm grumpy]

Do you think you can add SE5 v1.71 before you shut down Geo? |

Re: PBW to be permanently shutdown
I was pretty sure it was an April Fools joke just from the subject line. Such serious and major announcements are nearly always jokes when made on April 1st. |

Re: PBW to be permanently shutdown
He said 'April Fools' right in the post.
That was a bit of a hint.
