Dud pgms?
i was playing earlier today and bought some warthogs equipped with Mavericks, targeted soem enemy and one of them shot a maverick at a t72, the penetration report was TOP hit but 0 penetration, the other one also had this result, so, is it normal to have dud bombs and pgms or is it a bug?and in real life? is this common?

All aircraft weapons are HE weapons. HE (and HEAT) can produce 0 results for armour penetration.

Re: Dud pgms?
So the HEAT value with Maverick etc does not come into play, even if the weapon has it? The only thing that matters is HE penetration?

Re: Dud pgms?
YES the Mavericks use their HEAT rating. Go back and read what Andy said. The point was all weapons like this are either HE or HEAT and both of those can , on occasion, produce a zero result

If the maverick is a class 17 weapon then it does not use the HEAT value. Only one used as a class 13 ATGM (off a on-map helo say) would use HEAT. All class 17 weapons are guided bombs (like LGB which are also class 17) and use the HE penetration figure (and attack all units in the same hex, and in adjacent hexes like any other bomb). All class 11 air weapons use the HE penetration rules as well so air cannon and rockets can do 0 HE pen too (and attack all units in a hex as well as splash damage to adjacent hexes).
Any HEAT value on a class 17 is there for if it were reclassified as an ATGM for e.g. helicopter use by some OOB designer.
So - if you want specifically HEAT missiles, use a helo with hellfire, and its cannon can then also use sabot and AP ammo too. But you will lose the LGB blast effect.
