Mid game horror marks

Hi guys,

ALWAYS when i play with man, at some time mid game, my commanders in the capital start getting horror marks, and one by one start getting picked off. WHY? its extremely annoying, do i SIT on some kind of or whats wrong? Capital defences are always 25, and surrounding countryside always 10 so that spies get caught. What am i doing wrong?

Are you equipping them with lightless lanterns, or another horror-marking item?
