extras & new race creation

can anyone please help me?

what are the extras for and how do i use them?

also how can i create a new race without getting 'average' for all the characteristics?

1) The extras on the CD include data mods, shipsets, and helper programs for SE4.

Look in the ZIPs for a readme, which whould tell you how to install.
If you have questions about a specific extra, just post on this forum and you'll be swarmed with helpful people

When you "Add New Race", you are initially looking at the "General Details" screen.
On the left side, you should see a series of buttons; the fourth one is "Characteristics".
Click that, and then press the arrows beside each charateristic value to increase or decrease your bonus in that area.

Keep an eye on the top right corner; your total balance of Racial Points which you can spend on these traits is displayed there.

Also, do not ignore the "Advanced Traits" window (the next button after characteristics), where some pricey, but valuable purchases can be made with your remaining Racial Points.
