Stacking Facility Bonuses
Do Mineral Scanners and Radioactive Colliders work together with Robotoid Factories when they are on the same planet?
Do Religious Time Shrines work together with System Robotoid Factories when they are in the same system?

Re: Stacking Facility Bonuses
Well, I know there are theads that deal with this in detail. Heck, It is probably covered in the STICKY threads for newbies.
Ok here goes...
There are some exceptions, but generally:
Planet bonus facilities do not stack, only the best bonus is used.
System bonus facilities do not stack, only the best bonus is used.
The best planet bonus stacks with the best system bonus.
Some exceptions:
Climate and Value enhancement planet facilities.(The description does not say one per planet.)
Training facilities are sector bonuses, and they stack (Sectors have planets and moons).
*** OK I just pulled this out of the STICKY Newbie thread. ****
4.3.9 When a facility has "only one per system/planet effective", it refers to the ability of the facility, not to that specific facility. Eg: A System Robotoid Factory III and a System Mineral Scanner III do not stack, because they use the same ability (to affect minerals production). (Imperator Fyron)

Re: Stacking Facility Bonuses
Oh well, that's too bad.
So if you've researched Computers what is the point of researching Mineral, Organic or Radioactive Extraction past level 3?
None?
Seems like the SEIV tech tree is made for advanced players. :\
Thanks for the reply!

Well, one reason is that a mineral scanner is much cheaper (and thus faster) to build than a robotoid. If you only had Mineral Miners on the planet, it is unnecessary to spend the extra $$ and time to build a Robotoid.
The reason Robotoids are more common is that they require less research points to get them. But late in the game when you have most or all of the tech tree researched, you should only use Robotoids on planets with different kinds of resource generation, or obviously Monoliths.
Slick.

Re: Stacking Facility Bonuses
You should never use System Mineral Scanners and their ilk. That is just a waste of 2 facility slots, and a lot of research points, compared to 1 System Robotoid Factory. I personally have never seen a system that made only 1 type of resource (unless there was only a single smaller colony in it).
