Default Ship Analize

Question about ship analizing. This is the situation Playing a game with no Tech trade allowed,but ship gift/trade is. My Ally has PD 1 and I have PD 5. Can I send him one ship with just PD 5 for him to analyze or do I have to send him ships with each PD level he does not have? Or send him one ship with each PD level on it he does not have?

You don't have to send him each of the levels in between, but he only gets one level per analysis. What I don't remember is if it's one level per ship or per comp. So you either have to send him one ship with 4 level 5 PDC, or 4 ships with 1 level 5 PDC each. But you don't have to send him a level 2 PDC, a level 3 PDC, etc.

one per ship per turn.. I believe.

If the guy was smart he would research up to pd 4 and then analyze the mothballed ship

It is one level per unique component per ship.

So you could send 4 ships with PD5, or one ship with 4 different PDC components on it.

In the unmodded game, that could only be a PDC2, 3 4 and 5 on the same ship

If you put PDC 2, 3, 4, 5 on the same ship, would the order matter when analyzing? i.e. if they were installed in the order 5, 4, 3, 2, 1; would that cause you to get less levels because it would analyze the highest level component first?
