Default POLL Temporary Savegame Feature?

Would you be interested in having a temporary savegame privilege?

Right now, the game only saves the data as a completed turn.

The question: Would you like to have a temporary savegame feature which will allow you to reload the turn and make changes to it.

For some background, see the topic Simultaneous game issue

In solo (turn based) games you CAN save the game in the middle of a turn. The problem is that you can't undo a wrong order like you can easily cancel an order in simultaneous games.
Being able to save in the middle of a simultaeous turn and continue later would be a great help.

Good point Andres.

To be clear, what I meant was saving an unfinished game and then being able to recall it at a later time and make changes to it as if the game was never saved in the first place.

Basically, it will allow flexibility to those of us who are playing long games or to easily permit someone else to use the computer without fear of losing everything.

Seems like Malfador dont want to bother with that anyway
PvK told us that it was already a hot topic during the beta testing of the game. Now I would like to know is the reason Malfador gave. Seems to me a big annoying problem, to the point where I'm wondering if I will not put SE IV aside within some weeks when I will be bored with solo gaming, whereas I wanted initially to PBEM with it.

I don't think PvK's comment was that it was a hot topic. That would imply some sort of heated debate as to whether it was a good idea or not. My recolection is it was pretty much a consensus that it would be a very good thing, although I can't recall anyone stating it would be a game breaker to not have it.

Malfador acknowledged the request and stated at one point he attempted to add something like this. Apparently he ran into some code issues getting it to work right. The level of work involved apparently forced it down the list of priorities. It's not a matter of him not caring that many of us would like it.

I am confident it will be on the board early in Se5 and that should make it a simpiler matter to add rather than having to rewrite exsisting code as he would have to to get it in Se4.
