Launching fighters in simultaneous games
Hey Gents,
I was just wondering if someone could answer a question for me. I recently made the switch from playing SEIV in turn based mode to simultaneous movement. Although I'm enjoying simultaneous far better, I do have one relatively major gripe, although it might be due to my own ignorance. I was wondering if there is any way to specify how many fighters get launched from a planet or carrier onto the strategic map during a strategic turn? If I select launch fighters remotely, they ALL get launched at once, in one big group. If there is no way to specify, can I specify how many fighters (or drones) get launched per group?
For example, I've got 100 fighters on a planet. I don't want them all launched in one stack, so is there any way to specify launching them in Groups of 20? I'd like to be able to do this for performing fighter ops on the strategic map, or using drones as recon units. I tried building a fleet tender which included one drone launcher and plenty of cargo space. Since I haven't found a quick way to determine if a planet is LOADED with WP's, I figured I could launch a cheap recon drone, have it attack the planet, and then replay the combat to see if the planet is heavily defended with WP's. Unfortunatly, drone lauchers have a minimum launch rate of 4 drones per strategic turn, and they can't be recovered; what a waste of recon drones!
If none of this can be done, I'd like to write to MM and ask if it would be possible to add this in before the Last patch finishes up...you know, select how many fighters or drones to launch instead of all or nothing. Even if its something as simple as using the fleet strategy launching thingy (you know, in fleet strategies, where you select how many fighters get luanched per group in combat). At least this way fighters could be launched in friendly sized stacks as opposed to mobs. However, I don't want write to him if either A) I'm wrong and you CAN do these things, or B) someone else has already e-mailed him about this.
Any help would be appreciated.

No you can not  but you can put the wanted amount on the hull you are launching from.
To launch smaller fighter Groups:
Go to empire status
strategies

Aye Parabolize, but do the strat launching settings work only during combat, or do they apply when launching onto the strategic map as well?

Agreed. Hopefully, if implemented, all cargo operations (load, unload, launch, recover) would be given increments other than "all possible for one turn" for simultaneous games. That would make multiple cargo operations possible on one turn.
Lessee... drop a few mines here, then drop a few mines there, then drop a sat there, then pick up 100 oxygen breathers from there and put them here. That would be sweet for one turn provided you had enough movement points.
