Re: OT: Ad-Aware
well, i ran ad-aware. it came up with a list of data miners. now, a lot of them are labelled vender: tracking cookie. so, how do i tell the cookie's from sites that i have accepted from ones i havn't? how do i know what they do? basically, is it safe to delete everything on the list without losing my passwords?

Re: OT: Ad-Aware
It does not flag password cookies as data miners. Tracking cookies/data miners are NEVER password cookies. They are used by ad banners to try to get data on where you go, but they are really inneffective. Also, Ad-Aware quarantines everything (creates a backup where it cant do anything), so you can restore a cookie if you really need to.

Re: OT: Ad-Aware
If you want to keep your system clear, set up ad-aware as a scheduled task with the following line command: Ad-aware.exe "c:" +A +S +1
This is ssumimg your hardrive is c:
I also run spybot 1.2 regularly as a scheduled task with the lin command: SpybotSD.exe /autocheck /autofix /autoclose
They each wil pick up things the other misses.

Re: OT: Ad-Aware
Of course, it is best to memorize passwords, rather than writing them down in any form.
