Possible to delete, disband, or otherwise voluntarily kill a unit?
I have a bunch of diseased and injured gimps with terrible morale. I don't want to send them into battle with a useful commander, but don't want to mix them in with other trooops because of the morale penalty?
Is there a way to disband gimp units, so they don't take up supply?

I usually suicide them or use them as arrow fodder.
I hate flagellants. They can hardly kill anything and use up useful supply. My solution is to run them into the nearest force that can kill them or use them as arrow fodder.
You can get independent commanders for about 30 gold. So it shouldn't be all that bad. And...if you put the troops all the way at the front and give the commander orders to hold, hold, hold, hold, hold, retreat...you may well not even lose the cheap indie commander.

Don't you know that you can position your troops for where they appear on the battlefield !
Simply place your commander way way in the back with a setting of "hold, hold then retreat". Now place pathetic troops way in the front as attack closest. Attack independent province and your commander lives plus 90% or more of pathetic troops will die.

Oh, I love Flagellants. They're SO useful for patrolling. Of course, I'd rather something free of upkeep like undead or clockwork soldiers do the job, but when you're a blood mage you take whatever offers itself.

Gimps are an integral part of Dominions and we all love them .
Try giving them a nice severance pay or else the union will get you.You know the army has a social responsibility, don't you.
There is no way to get rid of these poor wretches. Place them in the front as archer screens and tell your own archers to fire at closest. You might hit several of the gimps.

I like to "retire" my gimps to provinces as patrollers while the younger/able troops move on to more wars. I always feel that Im giving them the useful deskjob they deserve.

That's interesting! I do the same thing. If somebody develops a limp in my service, they can at least be assured I'll find a good place for them marching around and around in the mud. It's the least I can do to reward loyalty!
Err, wait . . .
Seriously though, when I get a good chance, I'll "screen out" the badly afflicted and let them do other tasks, such as rear garrison and patrolling. They still serve a purpose that way and every once in awhile have actually come in handy as emergency reinforcements and such.

You mean, pay the full upkeep for a diminished warrior ? No way ! Onto the front line I say, where they will serve their God one Last time in a spectacularly bloody fashion !! And if they are still good enough to survive, they get to live untill the next battle !
Just getting into the Mictlan spirit for my next AAR report...
