well i just logged in to see the game has stopped. is this because this new patch i just read about? or should i just restart it again? I'm afraid i don't have much knowledge on these things...

It appears to be the fault of somebody uploading a turn in the new patch, before the Mosehansen server has patched. There's also a risk that the patch will break existing pretenders and games due to the various nerfings that may cause existant pretenders to become "illegal". I would advise that the game be backed up before any patching is attempted.
