Pavlov is on your side.
Well, I'll start this post by mentioning its about a "wish" for Dominions III.
And I'll start the actual post with a heart-rending story, about me.
After playing the game for about one hour, I got bored of the music (naturaly) that constantly repeats itself in very short intervals.
My natural choice was turning the Dom sound completely down (the battle sounds are too loud and wierd anyway) and putting some generic music in the background.
As luck would have it I really liked a particular band at that time, so I made it a traidition that everytime I played Dom II I put the same songs in the background.
After months of playing, Pavluv caught up with me and I noticed that whenever I heard this specific band's music, I had a sudden urge to play Dom II.
So what's the point?
The point is that good music (in various ways) can make players want to come back and play the game again, thus increasing the chance they will: A)Join the community to contribute. B)Tell all their friends about the game and make them buy it, repeatedly.
Which are obviously good things.
So what am I saying now?
All Im saying is that working on a good soundtrack with immersive music that will fit the atmosphere of the game will be a great improvement upon the game (rather than just giving up completely, like I consider the current soundtrack, no offence).
The entire HoMM series had awesome music, so why can't you?
P.S. If Pavlov's name isn't spelled this way, its not my fault, its פבלוב in hebrew...
