OT- Saving PBW stuff
Usually when I download a turn from PBW it lets me decide where to save it. I like to keep old turns in case I have to go back and check something. Now it saves the file in my temporary files folder. Does anyone know how to make it let me choose where to save the turn?. At one point I think I clicked on one of those buttons which asks "do not open this window again"

Re: OT- Saving PBW stuff
That has nothing to do with PBW, and everything to do with your web browser.
Without knowing what you are using, I can only suggest that you look through your preferences and settings.
There might be a "clear all the 'don't ask me'" button, or a toggle for the downloads specifically.

Re: OT- Saving PBW stuff
Didn't mean to imply it was PBW fault. I guessed it was something to do with my browser.

So what browser type and version are you using, and on what OS type and version?

Re: OT- Saving PBW stuff
Another possibility is the Virus checker. Maybe it is now set to isolate that type of file. I am NOT saying that there are viruses in them.
I tried some likely Tools/Internet Options and could not find one that replicated your problem.

You could always Get Firefox for a browser upgrade...

Re: OT- Saving PBW stuff
Usually a window comes up asking if I want to open, save or cancel the PBW turn. Now it was downloading the zip files ok but then it didn't allow me to unzip them because the "close this window when finished" option was checked. I'm pretty sure I clicked on the wrong option so it now just opens the zip file in a temporary files folder. It's annoying because Iwant to save the zip file, but I figured out to go back in the directory and copy the zip file to the game folder.

Re: OT- Saving PBW stuff
Well, if you use the text version of PBW, you can right click on the get turn button, and use Save As... to put it wherever you want. I don't know where the setting in IE is to specify a download folder.

Re: OT- Saving PBW stuff
Thanks Will, that seems to have been just the thing. I checked out the text version and though it wouldn't allow me to "Save as", when I left clicked on the turn it downloaded just as it used to. I was wrong, the option was something else, but i clicked it off then on anyway. Then hoping, I went back to graphics and now the turns download properly. Most odd.
