Default Just a silly idea - unit cost etc.

An idea just came to me - won't it be possible to add a cost calculator in the game, so that the "cost" window in OOB gets free for something else?
Another idea, following this - would it be possible to make ammo loadout adjustable? Say OOB stores "typical" loadout and a nr of rounds and player would be able in the purchase screen to modify loadouts according to expected opposition (more HE in case of expected all-infantry force, actually in the discussions on Tank-net it was mentioned that in Chechnya a T-72 got into fight with Chechen T-72 and was loaded just with HE ammo)... With the cost calcullations being made by the game, the cost itself will alter to respect changes in loadout...

Now I won't it'd be probably very hard to do, as I'm not a programmer I don't have to restrict my fantasy in this direction by cruel reality

There is a cost calculator, already.

If you want to adjust weapons load out - use mobhack to create a modified unit and run it through the CC utility.

Cheers

I am well aware of MOBhack and cost calcullator, I was wondering whther it would be possible to add an option to change ammo loadouts directly in the purchase phase - say in campaign to core units.

Oh and btw another one, can't remember whether it wasn't already discussed here, but would it be possible to introduce new HEAT code (say 223) for tandem warheads, so that these will be available also for LAW's, not only for ATGM's?

1) the entire game system is designed arount fixed units. So we would need a completely new game engine to allow fiddling with stats on the fly.

2) I may look at tandem HEAT later on, if there is a practical way to layer that on. It may need a new weapon class (tandem RPG or such).

As I've said, I'm no programmer so I cannot even imagine the C spaghetti you have to wrestle so if it's doable I'd be glad and if not... Well, the game's good enoug with all the changes you've made so far
