Default System Mineral Scanner

I've been playing a test game with no warp points to give myself time to totally research things like Mining, so that I now have System Mineral Scanner 3. However I think the component is bugged. I have that facility built in the system of a conquered enemy (they opened a gate on me, I killed them with three baseships using massive mount DUC Is).

With that facility and mining IIIs, which should give 1450 each because of the SMS, give only 1000 +- bonus. The regular Mineral Scanners work well and give my homeworld 11k minerals by itself, which is nice.

Has anyone else gone deep into the expensive Mining tech and found the same bug with SMS? I hope to try out the organic and rad versions too but I think the results will be the same. For now I'm sticking with the planetary versions.

(Basically my test game consists of me researching depth first down the list of technologies, adding techs when needed to avoid wasting points. Lots of pressing enter, but my economy is pretty darn good for two systems. And... baseships equiped with only DUC I are more powerful than you would expect.)
