Tonight\'s observation...
Stacking high Earth and Nature bless on Late Era Man is very, very nice. Perhaps not the best combo out there, but given the decent hit points and high protection already on their Wardens, you come out with a squad that's capable of absorbing a LOT of damage, doesn't eat a lot of afflictions, and keeps stacking over time. And making a Prophet out of their sneaky Warden Lord to take all those sneaky Wardens around is just -nasty-.
Of course, their big downside is their rather pedestrian magic resistance. Once you start running into undead that age you, that hurts. A lot.

Hmmmm, interesting. How much HP their Wardens have?

Re: Tonight\'s observation...
12 hps. But given how little damage they take due to the high protection (base 17 before you add the earth bless), you're in great shape in the early game with them. They make a very effective blitz force. That said, once the high-level evocation starts showing up, they're pretty much toast. An Ermor AI that went unchecked by the other AI players smoked my forces with a ton of Shadow Blast damage.
Stupid Ermor.

What's their MR? They sound quite interesting.

Re: Tonight\'s observation...
That bless also worked very well in Dom2 for Arco's Heart Companions, with the added advantage of priestesses able to heal what afflictions they did pick up.

Re: Tonight\'s observation...
I found that the crossbows were very useful as well. You "hold and attack" while the bless goes off, which allows them to fire their first volley and reload. They then advance with your commander into the melee, with the chaff having already soaked up the first assault. They cut through enemies slowly but surely with their great swords and the Lord Warden can be given nice Thug status with a few basic enchanted items. And then, as bonus, when the enemy routs, you get to unload your crossbows on them again to make up for the fact that your armor slows you down.

Re: Tonight\'s observation...
I want for late era man as much money as possible, so i do not do a bless strat .
Imho their magister arcane are quite good. And their defender and tower guard units are excellent too.
Imho the defender is the best humanoid late era infantry unit .

Re: Tonight\'s observation...
I had no problem with money with a bless strat, Boron. Keep in mind that LE Man takes NO penalty from Drain scale. You can max out Drain and pump it into Order and still have a great Dominion and Bless strategy, especially if you go dormant or imprisoned.
I'm just saying it's not either/or. ;-)

Re: Tonight\'s observation...
Speaking of money, I find it really strange to have more money on turn 2 than on the previous turn, even after spending all the starting gold on units...
...this is going to take some time to get used to...
...*tshich* "heroic stupidity"... ...awwww....
