Default Fleet Error using shipsets?

I've just tried using some user-created shipsets for the first time and get the following error during the computer's turns:

Maximum Weapon Range error for Fleets Default Strategy in record Fleet Settings

The error doesn't stop the game but I assume that the computer's fleet strategy will be messed up when it enters a tactical battle. Anything I can do to fix things?

As I understand it, Version 1.35 changed the wording of the strategy name to "Maximum Weapons Range", while Version 1.30 and earlier called it "Maximum Firing Range"; every .emp file created under 1.30 is going to give that error under 1.35, so all of those races need new .emp files.

Actually the problem is not the emp file. That seems to be ok. It is in the syntax(spelling or phrasing) in the actual AI.txt of the shipset. Just open the appropriate file ( in this case the AI fleet settings.txt of the shipset) and change the 'fleets Default Strategy' from 'maximum firing range'(or whatever the error is) to 'Maximum Weapons Range', capitalization is important too.

Other errors have been reported in the DesignCreation.txt as well. Mainly every instance of 'Phased-Shield Generation' must be changed to 'Phased Shield Generation'(no dash), 'Combat To Hit Add' to 'Combat To Hit Offense Plus', 'Combat To Hit Dec' to Combat to Hit Defense Plus'. (capitalization is important here too.)

Mainly they changed the wording of things from 1.3 to 1.35 , don't know why but most older shipsets will generate a few errors due to spelling/syntax now. The beauty is that some of these errors were there b4 but now the program actually reports them so we can correct them.

I don't think they necessarily changed the wording between 1.3 and 1.35, they just improved the error-checking and error-reporting routines. Some of the wording changes were accomplished back in the first patch or two, but the AI's weren't all updated...

Thanks for the quick responses guys! It's much appreciated. I'll check those files in question and make the changes. Sure is a lot more to creating/using shipsets in SE IV than there was in SE III...
