Ok what the heck...

I just recently discovered (again) SP.

Playing the DL version to decide if I want to buy the cd version.

Everything was good for a while, then I ran the patch's (all of them) on the game and still was good and noticed it was now MUCH better looking even at 800x600.

So last night I loaded it up again and while it looks good the graphics (full screen) are about the size they'd be if it was in windowed mode. Mostly black screen with a very small graphic window for the game in the middle.

I know it wasn't like this before (my eyes are so bad I couldn't play the game if it was)

So any idea what the heck I did?

Seems like the video card isn't switching resolution which it must have been doin before. It's just giving me an 800x600 box to play in like it would if in window mode.

If you did not adjust any game preferences, then you most likely did something outside the game in Windows. Since it was working fine before, that is most likely, methinks?.

Like - Installed a new graphics driver, or adjusted something else on the video card settings. Installed a Windows update (which may have a new driver?) - XP SP3 has just arrived and it seems some computers had problems with it (mine did not). Or perhaps somebody put your Windows task bar into auto-hide mode, or up the side of the screen, which as the installation instructions state, the game does not like.
