Well, here I am sitting in a room with 400+ screaming yelling Tribes fanatics, and I am board stiff. I have spent most of my time playing SEIV. How pathetic.

Its now 305 am Sunday, and here I am, playing SE IV at Tribes Convention 3. (TribsCon3). The hotel is very nice, and so far all the people have been great, but, there is this atmosphere of saddness that seems to be as thick as fog. You see, Dynamix, the company that created Tribes, and Tribes 2, was shut down by their parent company Serria about two weeks ago.
Today, I spent time talking with a few of the DEV. team. I tell you its like meeting .. oh how would I phrase this .. people whom you really admire and respect for what they have given you. This creation, called Tribes was one game that I will love to the end of my days. But like I said, here I am playing SEIV. Odd huh?
(Actually, my left hand hurts like a mthr-****er, and I can not play up to the standards that are being set here. Oh, don't get me wrong, I am holding my own, but barely.
In the future, just thinking out loud, wouldn't it be an interesting thing to consider if SE IV fans were ever to get together and meet for a Lan Party or such?
Just a thought, but it would be very interesting as many of us are over the age of 20, and more than able to do such a thing. (Average age here at TribesCon is about 25.)
Whats realy bad is I am getting my *** shot off by a kid who is about 15, and mostly plays on a 56k modem. That embarassment to my ego is enough, in additon to the wrist issue, if I am getting to old to play games such as Tribes as well as I had a few years ago. I mean, a year ago, I was a Elite Master, now I am little more than a Pro. That suxs horribly.
Think of it though, a room full of PC's and your playing against people who you know, but have never met in person. The challenges, the aggervations, the bar after a game...
Perhaps in time, an event will be organized and people can get together and play head to head and be sitting across the table from each other.
