1993: Baidoa - City of Death



January 1993.

The Australian 1RAR is deployed to Somalia
in a peace enforcement operation

- it is the first major Australian overseas
deployment since the country's participation
in Vietnam.



The Australians are given responsibility
for the inland city of BAIDOA.

It is a lawless region
where starvation and poor conditions among the civilian
population has earned it the nickname
"City of Death"



Immediately upon arriving and taking
over the area from units of the American
USMC there are clashes with clans, criminal elements
and a generally rebellious population.

And things will take a turn for the worse
making BAIDOA truly earn its nickname...

This campaign is short, essentially it's an enlarged scenario.

It will take longer time to play than a single scenario but the campaign format also offers more freedom to the player - I myself particularity like to do my own deployment.

The campaign is (loosely) based on OPERATION SOLACE which saw the Australian forces skirmish with Somali groups but in this fictional setup things will go south big time and it will became a mix of Mogadishu Day of the Ranger and the siege and assault of Fallujah...
